HomeMy WebLinkAbout0474 RESOLUTION NO. 474 IN THE MATTER of ACQUISITION ~~D I~~ROVE~~NT DISTRICT NO. 128 of the COUNTY OF LOS MfGELES PRELIMINARY RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA WHEP.EAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles did, on the 27th day of June 1927, order the preparation of plans and specifications by the County Surveyor for certain widening and improvement along Baldwin Avenue from Foothill Boule- va I'd to Ramona Boulevard and portions of said Baldwin Avenue to be widened and improved lie within the boundaries of the City of Arcadia; NOW, THEP.EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA: 1. That the public interest and necessity require the widening and improvement of Baldwin Avenue from Foothill Boulevard to Ramona Boulevard to the extent and in the manner set forth in the petition adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles on the 27th day of June 1927, and now on file in the Office of the Clerk of said Board of Supervisors under Acquisi tion and Improvement District No. 128 of the County of Los Angeles; 2. That the consent of this Council is hereby given to the widening of said Baldwin Avenue and particularly to the widen- ing of that portion of Baldwin Avenue lying wi thin the boundaries or the City of Arcadia in the oanner and to the extent set forth in said petition; 3. That the consent of this Council is hereby given to improveoent of said Baldwin Avenue and particularly to the 1mprove- men t or tha t port ion of daldwin Avenue lying wi thin the boundari es ,01' the City of Arcadia by the construction of cement concrete curb, cement concrete gutter, an asphaltic concrete base with a ITarrenite -1- tOP and such other work which may be necessary, in the manner and to the extent set forth in said petition; 4. That this Council hereby finds and deterrnines that the certain lands included within the boundaries of the proposed assess- ment distri ct, lying wi thin the boundaries of the Oi ty of Arcadia, as indicated in said petition will be benefi ted by said proposed widening and improvement and hereby consents to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed assessment district and to the assessment therefor of the property therein; 5. 'fhat the consent of this Council is hereby given to the commencement of a proceeding by the legislative body of the County 01' Los Angeles and the exercising of exclusive jurisdiction or said Legislative body over all proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in accordance with the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925, as amenued."
