P'.'A /J, J 4- ~(~(, , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That subsection (a) of Section 4 of Rule IX of the Personnel Rules and Regulations is hereby amended to ~ead' as' ... ,": '''.:~.~.'\''~'~~ follows: RULE IX . LEAVES SECTION 4. SICK LEAVE (a) Every full time employee in the Classified and Non-Classified Service (with the exception of temporary appointments) who shall have com- pleted six consecutive months of employment may, upon approval of the appointing power and City Manager, be granted sick leave with full pay to be accumulated beginning with the seventh month on the basis of one (1) day for each month of service. Any such employee may accumulate up to a maximum of ninety days' sick leave with full pay. Sick leave heretofore accumulated and to be com- pensated for at one-half pay pursuant to this sub- section as heretofore in effect shall be converted to full days of accumulated sick leave with full pay at the rate of one full day of compensable sick leave for each two days of sick leave hereto- fore accumulated and to be compensated for at one- half pay. subsection (a) of SECTION 2. That/Section 5 of Rule IX of the Personnel Rules and Regulations is hereby amended to read as follows: RULE IX . LEAVES SECTION 5. HOLIDAYS (a) Each employee' in the Classified Service, except uniformed members of the Police and Fire Departments, shall be allowed with full pay the following holidays and no others: -1- 3965 Every Saturday Every Sunday New Year's Day - January 1 Washington's Birthday - February- 22 Good Friday - from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Memorial Day - May 30 Independence Day - July 4 Labor Day - 1st Monday in September Admission Day - September 9 Veterans' Day - November 11 Thanksgiving Day - 4th Thursday in November Christmas Day - December 25 Either the half day preceding Christmas Day or the half day preceding New Year" s Day, at the election of the employee with the approval of his department head Every day appointed by the President or Governor for a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday Whenever New Year's Day - January 1, 'Washington's Birthday - February 22, Memorial Day - May 30, Independence Day - July 4, Admission Day -Septem- ber 9, Veterans' Day - November 11, Christmas Day - December 25, or any day appointed by the President or the Governor for a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday, falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday preceding or the Monday following, respectively, shall be a holiday. SECTION 3. This resolution is made pursuant to and is but a formalization of the decision of the City Council made June 28, 1967 and shall be effective for all purposes as of July 1, 1967. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
