A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA
'DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL,A
SPECIAL ELECTION ;IN CERTAIN' INHABITED

TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID 'CITY
PROPOSED TO, BE ANNEXED THERETO, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE
QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID
,TERRITORY THE' QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT
SAID TERRITORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, AND FIXING A TIME
AND PLACE WHEN AND WHERE ANY PERSON
OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH
TERRITORY MAY APPEAR ,BEFORE SAID CITY
COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH ~ERRITORY
SHOULD NOT BE SO ANNEXED (ANNEXATION
NO. 40, WEST ARCADIA INHABITED).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of
the City of Arcadia to call a special election to be held on the
11 th day of
June ,1968, in certain inhabited territory con-
tiguous to said city and proposed to be annexed thereto, for 'the
purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said
territory the question whether or not said territory shall be annexed
to the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 2. That the boundaries of the territory proposed
to be annexed located in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
are specifically described as follows:

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED
"ANNEXATION NO. 40, WEST ARCADIA"
AS MODIFIED BY THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly boundary of the
City of Pasadena, as same existed on January 25, 1967 and the
northerly prolongation of the center line of Quigley Avenue, 60 feet
wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 9562 recorded in Book 144, pages
57, 58 and 59 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles; thence southerly along said prolongation, said center
line and its southerly prolongation to the center line of Colorado
Boulevard, formerly Colorado Street, as shown on said map; thence

westerly along-'said last mentioned ceIlter line to the center line of
Rosemead Boulevard as shown on County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 11283
on file in the office of the County Engineer of said County; thence
southerly along said last mentioned center line and continuing
southerly along the center line of Rosemead Boulevard as shown on
County Surveyor's Filed Map No. 11121 on file in the office of said
County Engineer to the boundary of the City of Temple City as same
existed on January 25, 1967; thence easterly along said last mentioned
boundary and following the same through its various courses and
distances to the boundary of, the City of Arcadia as same existed on
January 25, 1967; thence northerly along said boundary of the City
of Arcadia and following the same through its various courses and
distances to the said boundary of the City of Pasadena; thence
southerly along last said boundary and following the same through
its various courses and distances to the point of beginning.

'SECTION 3. That said territory hereby is designated and
identified for such election purposes and for use upon the ballots at
such election as "Annexation No. 40, West Arcadia Inhabited".
SECTION 4. At any time not later than 8:00 ,o'clock p.m. on
March 19, 1968, that being the hour set for hearing objections to the
election, any owner of property within the territory may make a written
protest against the election. The protest shall state in general terms
the name of the owner of the property affected and the location and area
of the property. .At the said time set for hearing protests, the City
Council shall hear and pass upon all protests so made.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once a week
for two weeks prior to the said hearing in the official newspaper
publi~hed and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
I ,HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the
20th day of February, 1968, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, to wit:

and Considine
