GRANT DEED
THIS INDENTURE, Made the 24th day of February, in the year of
our Lord nineteen hundred and Thirty (1930), between WALTER S. McFARLAND and
CORA B. McFARLAND, hie wife, the parties of the first part, and CITY OF ARCADIA,
a municipal corporation, the party of the second part,
WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part, for and in
consideration of.the sum of Ten and NO/100 Dollars, gold coin of the United
states of Ameri.ca, to them in hand ',paid by the said par_ty of the second part,
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents, grant unto
the said party of the second part, and to its successors and assigns forever,
all that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate,: lying and being in the
Ci ty of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles and state of Cali femia, and bounded and
particularly describsd as follows, to-wit:
The Southerly Twenty-Five (25) feet of
Lots One and Two (1 and 2), Block 91,
Santa Anita Tract, as per.Map recorded
in Book 34, Pages 41 and 42, Miscellaneous
Records of said County, for Public Highway
and Road purposes, being a portion of Foothill
Boulevard, I
!his conveyance is made subject to the following conditions:
:j.. The Grantors reserve unto themselves, their heirs and
assigns, the exclusive use and occupation of said Northerly nineteen (19) feet
of the Southerly twenty-five (25) fest of this property" for a period of. fifteen
(15) years' after the date of record.ing this deed, and the Grantse agrees that
said Northerly nineteen (19) feet of the Southerly twenty-five (25) feet of this
property will not be ussd for highway or public purposes for said period of
fifteen (15) years after the date o~rscording this deed.
2.)7The Grantors, their heirs and assigns, fUrther reserve the
right to maintain a fence on said property so as to entirely enclose said North-
erly nineteen (19) feet of the Southerly twenty-five (25) feet of the said
property, and which fence will be located six (6) feet Northerly from the
Southerly boundary line of said lots one and two (1 and 2). Block Ninety-One
(91), Santa Anita Tract.
3. The Grantors, their heirs and aSSigns, further reserve unto
themselves rights-of-ways across said Southerly twenty-five (25) feet at such
places as they may select for the purposes of ingress and egress to and from
said lots one and two (~and 2), Block Ninety-one (91), Santa Anita Tract, and
further reserves the right to maintain driveways at such places as they may
select over aaid southerly twenty-five (25) feet.
