EASEMENT
WHEREAS, it has been found necessary to layout an official
channel for the Lexington Wash, sometimes called Rio Hondo, or San
Gabriel River, over and across the property owned by the under-
signed, so that the waters of the said stream may be confined to
a single c'hannel; and
WHEREAS, the undersigned believe it to be for their mutual
benefit and the benefit of the Oounty_of_LQs_Angel~s that such a
channel be established by the County'_of Los,Angelesj

NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual
covenants herein contained, and for a public purpose, viz., the
establishment of an official channel to carry the waters of the
said stream in a definite course, the undersigned hereby grant
to the Qounty of L~s A!1g&'!.s_ an easement and right of way of a
uniform width of four hundred and fifty (450) feet for the purpose
of constructing protective work against flood waters in and along
the lines of that certain chennel.or course outlined upon a map
hereto attached and made a part hereof, and for doing all the
things necessary for the purpose of confining the waters of the
said stream within the said channel as so outlined upon said
attached map.
