RIGHT OF ilAY CullTRACT.
Arcadia, California.
),;8Y 11, 1935.
OLIVE p~"bR, Record Owner of Lot 29, Block 7~ of the
City of Arcadia, has this day executed a Grant Deed for a ribht
of way over the following described property:
The Southerly 4 feet of the Northerly 10 feet
of Lot 29, Block 73, of the City of Arcadia, as
shown on map recorded in Dook 15, Pages 89 and 90,
J~iscellane ous Records of the County of Los AnGeles;
to be known as Huntington Drive.
and said executed deed has been delivered to I:r. G. D."atson,
City ~ngineer of the City of Arcadia, State of California, as
escrow agent, with instructions to deliver same to the City
Council of the City of Arcadia, state of California, when the
City Council of the City of Arcadia has delivered to said escrow
agent, one copy of this contract, signed and executed by the City
of Arcadia, for delivery to the undersigned owner.
It is understood that if and when the City of Arcadia
shall take possession of and use said hereinabove described property
for highway purposes, the City of Arcadia, in considerution of the
above described deed shall comply with the following~
(1) The construction of concrete gutters and curbs on
the new roadway line; the construction of full width
concrete sidewalks from the curb line; the paving of
the roadway from the present pavement to tho new gut-
ter line; the construction of all drainage structures;
and the relocating of all street 1ishtine standards,
water lines and connections, fire hydrants, etc.,
said work shall be done without ~ assessment being
placed against the remaining portion of Lot 29, Block
73, of the City of Arcadia and owned by the undersigned.
(2) That the proposed construction work be started not
later than December 31, 19~5.
(3) The City of Arcadia will assume all cost of askinG the
fo11owlng chances in the improvements now located on
Lot 29, Block 73:-
(a) ]!;xistin;; hedge to be taken out and destroyed.
(b) Vine growing et the northwest corner of the front porch
to be left as is.
(c) Front sidewllk to be not closer than than 6" from the
fuundation of dTIe11ing.

(d) Concrete retaining wall, 4 inches in height, to be
constructed along the front of lot, except at front
sidewalk leadine to porch and in front of telephone
office building.
(e) Existing conorete sidewalk leading to front porch
to be retained and brought to even r,rade that will
conform to sidewalk grade at the bUilding line.
(f) Remove and destroy ~xisting palm tree in front yard
and plant in its place one COCos Palm tree, the
height of which .hall not be les8 than ten feet.
(g) The undersigned does hereby agrve to accept as full
compensation for damages the sum of Twelve dollars
end fifty oents (.Jl2.50), said sum to be paid on or
before the date of starting improvement operations.
