None The City Clerk advised that pursuant to Government Code Section 35120, supplemental petitions protesting the proposed annexation had been filed in her office on this date; that withdrawals of protest had also been re~eived, but that time had not permitted a staff tabulation and report. ,I : Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Arth, seconded:by'Councilman Forman and carried unanimously that the petitions of protest and the withdrawals of protest be referred to the City Clerk and City Manager for tabulation and report to be submitted at an adjourned meeting, and that the public hearing on the matter be continued to Monday, April 15, 1968, at 7 P.M., to which date'and time this meeting was adjourned. He stated in part that he thought said report would justify ,the inc'lusion of many of the protest:" "hich were excluded by the City staff report of March 27, 1968; th'at 'the Association has ;lrguments pertaining to the validity of the filing of any withdrawals of protest after the first protest hearing; that in their opinion a majority protest was made at the first hearing and he requested an opportunity to be heard at the adjourned meeting. Mayor Considine advised that the procedure at the aforementioned meeting would depend on the results of the tabulation and report; that if there are found to be sufficient protests over the fifty percent, any further arguments would be needless. He assured Mr. Jeppson, however, that he would be afforded an opportunity' to be heard. There being no further business, the meeting was ADJOURNED until MONDAY, APRIL 15 at 7 P.M., in the Council Chamber. ATTEST: City Clerk 4-8-68 - 1 -
