e City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an
a ourned regular session on Tuesday,.August 7, 1979 at 5 p.m. in
th Arcadia City Hall Conference Room.'

Chairman Hargett declared the hearing open and in response to an :
inquiry by Randolph Shipley, representing Robert Donaldson advised
that no communications had been received concerning this matter
other than that from Mr. Donaldson. ';
No one else desiring to be hear& it was MOVED by Member Saelid,

seconded by ~mber Parry and car,tied unanimously.that the hearing be
CONTINUED TO qcTOBER 2, 1979 at ;5 p.m.
Member Parry asked for an execu~iv~'session on pending litigation and
the Agency entered an executive sess~on at 5:40 p.m.

At 6:20 p.m.
The District representative 0 the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District explained in detail th need of the District for revenue to
fund operations; Using charts t e and costs were
explained. A benefit assessment d been proposed to be based on
properties. It would run about $S 0 per.9600 sq. ft. per
year assessed to the property owner Support of the proposal was
requested. It was MOVED by Council Gilb, seconded by Councilman
Parry and carried on roll call vote a follows' that the City Council
go on record as supporting the Benefit ssessment for the County of
Los Angeles Flood Control District.

Discussion held on the three proposals in which e Council had
evinced interest for the purchase and development f city owned
land at 610-618 N. Santa Anita Avenue.... DB Assoc tes, Fred Bowden
and Tom Pappas. The various developments were cons ered as to use
and purchase price. It was MOVED by Councilman Gilb,
Councilman Pellegrino and carried on roll call vote a

Messrs. Saelid and Margett would have liked to allow more time for
DB Associates to endeavor to obtain adjacent properties which would
be cessary for its proposed development.
The C ty Council and Members of the Agency authorized staff to
review all preliminary plans for developments in the redevelopment
area an then submit them to the Council for consideration.
