PRESENT: ABSENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Rage, Forman None Police Chief, Recreation Director, City Clerk, City Manager, Administrative Assistant The Police Chief explained in detail his operational costs and following extensive consideration the following reductions were authorized: 421-12-3 Uniforms and equipment for new officers (reduced $2,100 to $1,750) REDUCED $350.00 421-14 Gasoline allowance REDUCED 500.00 421-26 IACP Sight and Sound Training Service OMITTED 480,00 421-50 One manual typewriter OMITTED 210.00 421-54 Projector for Training Program OMITTED 375.00 409-61 Further discussion held on the insurance program and t~e fire insurance premium was reduced from $9,000 to $1,900 to cover a one year payment instead of the proposed five year payment. REDUCED $7 ,100.00 Discussion held on the urgency of the installation of power steering for pumpers on a vehicle in the Fire Department. Council requested report on the need. 440-35 Amount necessary to repair 1961 Ford Falcon INCREASED 200,00 440-51 Station wagon OMITTED 2,425.00 The Recreation Director explained the operations and cost of his Department. Salaries for personnel explored and the expression was made that perhaps during the ensuing year some consideration could be given to increasing this compensation. Pool program discussed at length. 450-31 Attendance at the League of California Cities' meeting in San Diego eliminated.
