PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Hage, Forman None \ Discussion .was he~d at length on the nUmerous modifications of the various formulae considered prior to the introductio~ of Ordinance No. 1333 (on December 20, 1966). Discussion included the merit of a bond issue for capital improvements in the water department; whether or not it would be possible at this time to place at least a portion of the costs on the ad valorem tax and the possibility of an excise tax similar to that imposed by the City of Glendale on water users not served by the City Water Department which was explained by the City Attorney. Each Councilman expressed his individual views thereon. Following full discussion it was MOVED by Councilman Considine, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and carried unanimously that Ordinance No. 1333 as introduced be amended by providing 300 cubic feet of water per month with the minimum monthly charge and by increasing the fire service standard charges to coincide with the monthly minimum service charges. Whereupon the City Attorney again presented, explained the content and read the title of 'Ordinance No. 1333 as thus amended, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 7531.1, 7531.1.1, 7531.1.2 AND 753l.2 OF THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE WITH RESPECT TO WATER RATES." MOTION by Councilman Considine, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and carried on roll call vote as follows that the reading of the full body of Ordinance No. 1333 be waived: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Hage, Forman None None Councilman Considine further MOVED that Ordinance No. l333 be reintroduced. Councilman Hage seconded the motion which was carried on roll call vote as follows: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Considine, Rage, Forman None None The City Attorney reported that the Superior Court had refused to issue the temporary injunction requested by plaintiffs (Bowling Square and Arcadia Bowling Courts) and that in due time the matter would be 1. 12-22-66 17 :6933 set for trial. He also explained the need for Council decision on whether or not the Business License Officer should include in the mailing of renewal business license forms the affidavits of compliance relating to the serving of alcoholic beverages on the concourse of bowling lanes. It was MOVED by Councilman Butterworth, seconded by Councilman Hage and carried unanimously that authorization be given staff to proceed with the mailing of the renewal forms without the affidavits of compliance at this time. The date for the dedication cermonies of the new Corporation Yard was rescheduled to January 2l, 1967 at 10 A.M. I At 9:l5 P.M. Mayor Forman declared the meeting adjourned.
