HomeMy WebLinkAboutDECEMBER 28,1961 ~ M I NUT E S ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 28, 1961 Pursuant to Resolution No. 3370, members of the City Council met in the Conference Room on December ,28, 1961 at 7:30 P.M. I PRESENT: Councilmen Camphouse, Reibold, Balser Library Board Member Young City Controller Harris City Attorney Nicklin City Clerk Van Maanen Purpose of the meeting being to consider a salary survey prepared by the City Manager and submitted to the Council. Said survey recommending adjusting inequities. On behalf of the Library employees, Mr. Young expressed the desire that salary increases be granted to Library personnel in amounts comparable to those granted other city personnel. Various positions discussed, including pages and the various ways in which they fill positions. It was the consensus that the salary survey pertaining to the Library should not be submitted to the Personnel Board as is intended with the complete salary survey on all other city departments. Mr. Young was excused at 8:35 P.M. Further discussion held on merit increases, the employing of a consultant, and Section 804 of the City Charter. It was the consensus that a declaration of intent be made at the next regular Council meeting (January 2, 1962) with adjustments to be made effective January 7, 1962 - after consideration by the Personnel Board. The City Manager advised that he had received an offer and a deposit from the Elk's Club to purchase the old library building and site. Amount being $80,000.
