purpose of convening the regularly scheduled Study Session, pursuant to

incorporating as its theme "Land Use" and its effect on residents,
commercial area, industry, freeway, etc.
Pursuant to the City Manager's suggestion at the Special Meeting of May
29, 1962, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager, David Brown,
explored and displayed samples of possible written reports which could
be mailed to all residents. One was a copy of a calendar type which the
City of Norwalk devised through the assistance of a full time public
relations person, said calendar incorporating statistics and pertinent
information pertaining to City department services. Mr. Brown also
presented a smaller engagement calendar. After discussion the Council
were of the opinion that a report similar to that of the City of Norwalk
would be more suitable for the City's purpose; however, that the City
of Arcadia calendar might be more colorful and distinctive.
Police Department: Item by item discussion held, with emphasis placed on
the practicability of providing uniforms for the Police, Fire, Water and
Street Departments. The City Manager presented a Uniform study, which
the Council will study and determine later.

seems remote at this time; that if need arises funds can be appropriated
from Contingency Fund. Following change recommended: Item 423-10 - $500.

Mayor Butterworth suggested that Council review the Board and Commission
program at some future date.
At 9:45 P.M. Councilman Reibold~, seconded by Councilman Phillips and
carried unanimously, that the meeting adjourn to Thursday, June 7, 1962.
