SPECIAL ADJOURNED MEETING
OF THE
ARCADIA CITY COUNCIL

Special Adjourned Meeting of the City Council was held on May 19, 1960
at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of continuing the discussion and review
of the proposed 1960-61 budget, as submitted by the City Manager:
PRESENT: Councilmen Balser, Butterworth, Phillips, Reibold and Camphouse;
City Clerk Van Maanen, City Manager Schone, Recreation
Commissioners Unland and Turner, Recreation Director Panatier
and Police Chief Seares.
DISCUSSION on the Recreation Budget included:
Comparison tables
Additional capital projects
Future lighting of tennis courts
Park acquisitions
Senior citizen program
Possible increase in charges for certain activities
Self-sustaining programs might be indicated on pamphlets
Regimentation
Tax rate increase for specific purposes
Female supervisor needed.
DISCUSSION on Recreation Budget continued.
DISCUSSION on Police Department budget:
Useage and mileage of police cars
Need for Cushman type vehicle
Replacement of present ten black and white cars with lighter weight
more inexpensive cars
Annual replacement of cars
Ozalid duplicating machine need
Councilman Reibold moved for adjournment until Monday, May 23, 1960 at 7:30 P.M.
Councilman Balser seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
City Council remained for executive session exclusively held for personnel
discussion.
