Schone) lU.Q},~X"~D I ADJOURNMENT )j 19 i M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 31, 1959 Pursuant to the foregoing call for, notice of and consent to the holding of a Special Meeting, which was on file in the office of the City Clerk prior to the time of said meeting, the City Council of the City of Arcadia met in Special Session on October 31, 1959, at 2:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall, with Mayor Reibold presiding. Mayor Reibold announced the purpose of the Special Meeting, as stated in the signed consent on file. PRESENT : ABSENT : Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Phillips, Reibold Councilman Jacobi At the request of Mayor Reibold the City Attorney presented and read in full Resolution No. 3183, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING AND EMPLOYING MAROLD K. SCHONE AS CITY MANAGER, DEFINING HIS DUTIES AND ESTABLISHING HIS RATE OF COMPENSATION, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 3163 AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 3142." Motion by Councilman Camphouse, seconded by Councilman Phillips and carried on roll call vote as follows that Resolution No. 3183 be adopted: AYES: Councilmen Balser, Camphouse, Phillips, Reibold NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Jacobi Councilman Balser stated that it is gratifying to know that of the 91 applications received for the position of City Manager, through the diligent effort of the Council, in his opinion, the services of a man best qualified to serve in this capacity has been secured. He also commented that one of the factors in Mr. Schone's favor was his experience as an administrator of a city in Michigan similar in type to Arcadia. Councilmen Camphouse and Phillips stated that Councilman Balser had fully expressed their feelings and opinions. Mayor Reibold commented that all five Councilmen had been unanimous in the choice of Mr. Schone as City Manager of Arcadia, which views were expressed when the Council discussed the matter as a committee of the whole on October 29, 1959. That Councilman Jacobi, because of a prior commitment, had been excused from attending today's special meeting. Mayor Reibold declared the meeting adjourned. ~!)(}M'nA~/ City Clerk } 10-31-59
