J' Discussion on an item in the April 14 City Council Newsletter relating to upstream landfills and their possible effect on water quality... also an item in the League of California Cities Legislative Bulletin relating to new regulations was mentioned. Referring to the matter of depositing materials in any standing water, the Director of Public Works explained that it is a question of interpretation ... they do not want the inert materials dumped directly into standing waters. It is dumped for in- spection before it is bulldozed over into the pool. They spread it and inspect it ... they don't dump into the water. The City Manager advised that Council does not have to take any action right now... if Council decides to go ahead with an inert landfill, stringent requirements can be put on at Council's discretion. 4/19/88 -1- 30:0080 TREE REMOVAL (2nd Ave.) Correspondence received from Mrs. Dorothy Teague in reference to removal of trees from her property on Second Avenue. The Director of Planning stated, in part, that the conditions of the Lot Split do not permit the removal of trees for construction of a driveway. The lot is quite deep they could move the house back and go around it... there are alternatives. If the owners wish to pursue the matter they must take it before the Planning Commission and supply Planning with the data, plans and so forth.
