(/ IX' 1>','1' u.-<, rod>' M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE ClTY OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETlNG JULY 19, 1988 The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an Adjourned Regular Session at 7:eO p. m., July 19, 1988 in the Arcadia City Hall Confe~ence Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Chandler, Gilb, Lojeski and Harbicht Councilmember Young On MOTlON by Councilmember Lojeski, seconded by Councilmember Chandler and CARRIED, Councilmember Young was EXCUSED. vi Public hearings were set for August 2, 1988, for three items on the regular agenda: 8(a) Consideration of Z-88-00l, a zone change from R-2 (medium density multiple-family zone) to R-l (second one-family zone) at 661 W. Camino Real and 1425-1441 Melanie Lane. 8(b) Consideration of T.A. 88-002, a text amendment requiring a Con- ditional Use Permit for retail businesses adjacent to residentially- zoned property selling liquor for off-premise consumption and re- tail businesses selling goods and products to the public on a walk- in basis, which are open more than sixteen (16) hours per day, or which are open to the public any time between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a. m. This text amendment will also establish restrictions pertaining to said retail businesses. 8(c) Confirmation of weed abatement charges as prepared by the County Agricultural Commissioner. , Requested a Closed Session before tonight's regular meeting. ,--.. Commented that a letter had been received complimenting Building Inspec- tor Roy Streeter. The Mayor noted that it is not often that the City receives this type of letter and he wanted to acknowledge the compli- ment. , Mayor Harbicht noted that_Council has not formally accepted the resig- "- nations of Sherry Root from the Library Board and Margo Crumley from the Arcadia Beautiful Commission. Whereupon, it was MOVED by Councilmember Gilb, seconded by Councilmember Lojeski and CARRlED, that both resignations be accepted with regrets. New appointments will be considered, and possibly others, at the second Council meeting in August on the 16th. -1- 7/19/88 30:0171 EMKAY - PLAQUES PRESENTED J Rick Smith, representing Emkay Development, was present to present commemorative plaques of the groundbreaking ceremony at the North Side Project to each Councilmember, the City Manager and Assistant City Manager for Economic Development. The plaques were graciously accepted with thanks and appreciation from all recipients.
