ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 4, 1983
The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an
adjourned regular session at 7 p.m. August 4, 1983 in the Confer-
ence Room.
PRESENT: Councilmen Haltom, Hannah, Pellegrino, Lojeski
ABSENT Councilman Dring
It was MOVED by Councilman Haltom, seconded by Councilman Hannah
and carried that Councilman Dring be EXCUSED.
In response to a communication from Assemblyman 'Sam Farr it was MOVED
by Councilman Haltom, seconded by Councilman Pelle9rino and carried
that Council support the placing of the 1984 Parklands Bond Act on the
ballot next June; that a letter of endorsement be submitted to the Sen-
ator and to the Governor over the signature of Mayor Lojeski. If approv-
ed by the electorate this bond issue would be shared equally between
state and local governments and the City of Arcadia's share alone could
be approximately $47,000. These monies could be used to assist the lo-
cal park systems to remain healthy and provide for the needs of the com-
mun i ty .
Council di'scussed some of the agenda items for the regular meeting this
date. lJ factors relating to the request of the Bank of American for
installation and operation of a Versateller at the northwest corner of
Santa Clara and Santa Anita Avenues .., this would be used during non-
banking hours and the bank representative, Mr, Masterson, said in part
that vi sibil ity and 1 ight at the location is, required.., The safety
factor was paramount in the minds of Council. This was considered at
the regular meeting at which time it was continued to August 16.
2J The request of the National Little League for permission to park
on the Water Department property on Longden Avenue was considered with
the Water Manager explaining that they have imposed requirements on the
agreement to protect the property. The League would charge for parking
with the money going to the League. The City would be provided with a
Hold Harmless Bond and additional insurance endorsement in an amount the
City deems adequate.' The City could terminate the agreement on short
notice if the situation warrants such a move,
