7 p.m. in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT: Councilmen Haltom, Hannah, Pellegrino, LOjeski
ABSENT: Councilman Dring
Councilman Dring was EXCUSED on MOTION by Mayor Lojeski, seconded
by Councilman Haltom and carried.
Councilman Hannah read a communication from Councilman DrinQ to the
effect that his business would prevent him from attending this meeting.
He is in San Francisco. (Contents of this letter will be recorded in
full in the minutes of the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m.
this date.)
Scheduled a public hearing for May 1, on Text Amendment 84-2 to amend

Communication from City of Sierra Madre concerning its interest in
closing Chantry Flats Road. A meeting will be scheduled with the
cities of Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Monrovia, the Forest Service and
County representation to try to resolve the problem on Chantry Flats
Road.
Staff advised of a correction in figures contained in an agenda item
(No. 3f Consent Calendar) relating to consulting services in connection
with a proposal by Daniel Benson on the 1984 Transit Consultant Services
proposal... the total contract cost should be $14,200 rather than the
$17,000 indicated in the original report. This will be included in
the minutes for the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m. this date.
The agenda for the regular meeting will include an item for "Audience
Participation". This was inadvertently omitted.
Mayor Lojeski advised of the illness of the Mayor of Newcastle,
Australia, and that its Council met in an emergency session to name
the Deputy Lord Mayor as the official Mayor of Newcastle. Telegrams
have been directed to both officials. '
On recommendation of Mayor Lojeski Council scheduled a public hearing
for May 15 on Planning Commission's recommendation for denial of
Modification 84-35 relating to property at the northwest corner of
Lovell Avenue and Naomi Avenue.
The City Clerk responded to Councilman Haltom's inquiry in connection
with a communication from Mrs. Johanna Hofer regarding the holding of
the election in the City Hall public hallways and lobby rather than in
the Council Chamber.
The meeting adjourned sine die, at 7:20 p.m.
