HomeMy WebLinkAboutMAY 15,1984 25:0949 CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK 1 I ROLL CALL AGENDA ITEM WITHDRAWN BUDGET May 22,1984 6 p.m. MINUTE CORRECTION PHYSICAL EXAMS FILMING PUBLI C RALLY OLYMPICS PLAQUE 1 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED HISTORICAL HOME M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA a nd the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING May 1 5, 1 984 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjourned regular session Tuesday, May 15, 1984 at 7:00 p. m, in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room, PRESENT: Council Members Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young and Hannah ABSENT: None The City Manager advised that the applicant for modifications for a proposed medical office building at Naomi/Lovell has withdrawn his application, This was scheduled for public hearing at the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m, Some discussion held on the traffic problems at the subject location, The meeting scheduled for May 22 on redevelopment was cancelled. The budget session will be held on that date at 6:00 p. m. (This had been set for May 17 -- that has now been cancelled.) Council Member Lojeski noted an omission in the minutes of the regular meeting of May 1 -- the City Clerk will make the correction, Correction was made in the staff report dated May 9, 1984, page 4, second paragraph from last, second line, should read three thousand dollars instead of one thousand. In response to Council Member Lojeski 's question, the City Manager explained in detail the charges when filming was done at the Arboretum and when City streets were used, ,. also when safety members of the City were used. Council Member Lojeski submitted information for those desiring to attend the Rally for Public Education to be held at the San Marino High School May 31. Special parking will be provided at the site and bus transportation will also be available at a small fee, Council Member Lojeski also brought up the sale of plaques which will be handled by the Chamber of Commerce for the Olympic Commission. This will be a fund raising project, This will be a limited series and they will be for sale at, $75.00 each, Council had previously granted pennission for the Commission to use the City Seal. Volunteers are also needed, about 80, to help work the cross country event at Fairbanks Ranch August 1 from about 4:00 a, m, to 6:00 - 8:00 p, m. Bus transportation will be provided, leaving from Santa Anita Race Track. Chris McGuire is in charge of this. Some discussion held on the availability of the former Clara Baldwin home at 291 W. Foothill Blvd. It is up for sale and the City has been asked if it has any interest due to its historical value, 5-15-84 -1- 25:0950 FILMING Some further discussion held on the report relating to filming within the City and/or the Arboretum, fees, etc. Council Member Young was advised on what the Council would like to have from the Liaison to the Planning Commission.
