ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 21, 1984
The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment
Agency met in an adjourned session at 7 p.m. August 21, 1984 in the
Arcadia City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young, Hannah
ABSENT: None
Considerable discussion held on the disposition of the signs and
banners from the Olympiad. It was the consensus that the Arcadia
Olympic Commission make those decisions and submit findings to the
City Council for approval. It was also felt'that a formal resolution
be adopted recognizing the efforts and accomplishments of the Com-
mission - at the same time officially terminating the Commission.
The Chairman of the Commission will be asked to attend the next Council
meeting and bring the Council up to date on their plans.
It was MOVED by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilwoman Young and
carried on roll call vote as follows that a formal Resolution be
prepared for presentation September I8 in recognition of the Commis-
sion's exemplary efforts, and officially terminating the Commission.

EQUESTRIAN It was MOVED by Councilwoman Young, seconded by Councilman Lojeski

CITY PINS On recommendation of the City Manager it was r~VED by Councilman
PURCHASE Pellegrino, seconded by Councilwoman Young and carried on roll call
o vote as follows that 1000 City pins be purchased in the amount of
~5T ~2,055. Funds from the Federal Revenue Sharing Account.

The request of the May Company for permission to hold a major home
furnishings sale event on the middle level of its parking structure.
The closure would be from the preparation period of August 20 through
the sale period of September 13 to September 17 to the tear down
period from September I8 to September 28, 1984. Following some dis-
cussion on this item it was MOVED by Councilman Gilb, seconded by
Councilman Pellegrino and carried on roll call vote as follows that
permission be granted for the duration requested and that staff be
directed to prepare a Text Amendment which will clarify the intent
of the existing regulations for such events.

This matter will be discussed in CLOSED SESSION at the conclusion of
the regular meeting this date.
It was MOVED by Councilman Pellegrino, seconded by Councilman Lojeski
and carried on roll call vote as follows that $3,884 be appropriated
from the City's General Revenue Sharing Fund to cover the cost of
printing the new City Seal on City stationery and City Council business
cards. (See report dated August 21, 1984 for breakdown),

During the consideration of the new City Seal Councilman Lojeski was
appointed to work with staff on this.
It was MOVED by Mayor Hannah, seconded by Councilman Gilb and carried
on roll call vote as follows that $450 be appropriated from Federal
Revenue Sharing to pay for the City's share of operational costs of
the Independent Cities Risk Management Joint Powers Authority for
I 984-85 .

The City Manager clarified the communication in the Newsletter of
August 16 concerning Group W. (Information only),
Councilman Lojeski commended staff on the report dated August 7
concerning an economic analysis for the relocation of the City's
Corporation Yard, (Information only).
Chief Gardner explained the type and quality of roofino material
which would be appropriate for the shelter at Wilderness Park.
The meeting adjourned sine die at 7:30 p,m,
