HomeMy WebLinkAboutJUNE 6,1989 I I 31:0113 CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 6, 1989 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an Adjourned Regular Meeting June 6, 1989 at 7:00 p. m. in the Conference Room of the Council Chamber. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Young and Chandler Councilmember Harbicht On MOTION by Councilmember Lojeski, seconded by Councilmember Gilb and CARRIED, Councilmember Harbicht was EXCUSED. AGENDA ITEMS In clarification of Consent Item 6e. on the Regular Agenda this date, vi the City Manager explained the position of Administrative Assistant in the Personnel Department is new and will be filled by promotion within the Department. The position of Personnel Technician will be filled on a competitive basis. The duties of the Personnel D~rector who has left the employ of the City will be under the direction of the Assistant to the City Manager, with day to day management assist- ance provided by the Administrative Assistant. The reorganization of the Department will not result in a net increase of staff. Consent Item 61. "Report and recommendation for the purchase of a ..; Vehicle Tracking System for the Police Department", will be considered separately from other Consent Items on the Regular Meeting Agenda this date. In response to a question from Council in connection with Consent vlltem'6d. on the Regular Meeting Agenda, the City Attorney :explained for professional services the Arcadia Municipal Code contains specific provision for the City to enter into an agreement without going through the formal bid process. Referring to Item 7 on the Regular Meeting Agenda, "Architectural Design Review 89-048, Arcadia Metro Center - 630-650 West Duarte Road~', the City Attorney announced that technically under the Arcadia Munici- pal Code; this item should be handled similarly to 'a 'public hearing. The applicant should be allowed to be heard on the subject. The way the Code reads, it does not require a public notice of a hearing. Consent Item 6a. set for public hearing June 20, 1989. ~With the first July meeting of the City Council falling .on the 4th of July holiday, Council determined to change the date of the Council Meeting to Wednesday, July 5, 1989. CLOSED SESSION The City Manager requested a CLOSED SESSION before the Regular Meeting this date. ADJOURNMENT At 7:08 p. m.
