I AGENDA ITEMS ADJOURNMENT ATTEST: M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 7, 1989 The Arcadia City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an Adjourned Regular Meeting at 7:00 p. m., November 7, 1989 in the City Hall Conference Room of the Council Chambers. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Harbicht, Lojeski, Young and Chandler None In reference to the October 19 Council Newsletter, Councilmember Gilb recognized the nice letter from the Boy Scouts of America acknowledging the exceptional services of Chief Johnson at the 1989 National Scout Jamboree. Also noted that City Manager, George Watts, was reappointed to the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Commission by the Board of Supervisors. Further, it was suggested that the Mayor send a letter of commendation to the Fire Department in recognition of the 75 Fire employees who each donated one day of vacation pay to aid the Santa Cruz victims of the October 17th earthquake. Councilmember Gilb MOVED to accept Al Citro's resignation from the Senior Citizens' Commission with regret, seconded by Councimember Harbicht and CARRIED. Mr. Citro is moving to Monrovia. In reference to a memorandum from Arcadia Sister City Commission regarding Council's endorsement of the forthcomi~g trip to Australia of the Arcadia High School Music Program, Councilmember Gilb MOVED that the trip be re- garded as an official Sister City trip AUTHORIZED by the City Council, seconded by Councilmember Harbicht and CARRIED. Council noted that this should be considered as an endorsement only of the trip ... no funds are involved. A brief discussion ensued of the site beautification improvements needed at the St. Joseph water reservoir property. Council directed staff to place this matter on the Regular Meeting Agenda for consideration at a later date. Staff recommended scheduling Consent Items 7a and 7b on the Regular Meeting Agenda this date for public hearing November 21, 1989. Council then entered a CLOSED SESSION, RECONVENED and ADJOURNED sine die at 7:30 p. m. Ro 11/7 /89 -1-
