AUGUST 4, 1981
The City Council of the City of Arc2cia, California met in an
adjourned regular session at 7 p.m. ~ugust 4, 1981 in the Con-
ference Room.

Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Pellegrino, Saelid, Gilb
None
Council discussed two bills before the State Senate (Nos. 799 and
999) proposing to amend sections of the Public Resources Code con-
cerning fire hazards and the use of fireworks. It was MOVED by
Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and carried on
roll call vote as follows that the following minute resolution be
adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby
opposes Senate Bill Nos. 799 and 999 relating to fireworks.

Council will discuss this on August 11 at 7 p.m., after which it is
scheduled to meet with the Planning Commission concerning zoning.
Council was reminded of the forthcoming joint meeting with the School
Board on September 10 in the Conference Room.
Council was also reminded of the League of California Cities Confer-
ence to be held in San Francisco October 17 to 20. Staff asked those
who will be attending to so notify the Office of the City Manager in
order to make reservations.
Council also received a report from the Finance Director relating to
revenues and expenditures of race tracks.
The compliance examination report prepared by the independent auditors,
Lance, SolI & Lunghard was recei'ved.
Staff advised that a contact has been made with Ed Jenkins who has been
representing those who would like to annex to the City (County territory
to the southwest). Mr. Jenkins advised tht he will be holding a town
meeting and will at that time ascertain those who desire to be on the
committee.
The Director of Public Works reported that notification had been re-
ceived from the County Sanitation District (Nos. 15 and 22) that they
would consider the adoption of an ordinance during August relating to
additional connection charges to be used for maintenance and operation
of the system. More information will be available at the Countil meet-
ing of August 11.
At 7:20 p.m. Council entered a closed session, reconvened and adjourned
sine die at 7:30 p.m. ---------
