Council received the request of Albert M. Soldate, President of the
Arcadia Rotary Club, for some financial relief in the cost of traffic
control by the police department for the forthcoming annual picnic-
concert at the County Arboretum. This is a community and charitable
project on the part of the Club and the Arboretum Foundation. George
Fasching, Chairman of the event, spoke to this and asked for consider-
ation. It was the consensus of the Council that they were not against
it in principle but felt it would set a precedent and the same would
have to be afforded all other organizations, noting that the Chamber
of Commerce recently paid for traffic control for a similar event.
Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Pellegrino, seconded by Council-
man Haltom and carried on roll call vote as follows that the request
be DENIED.
