PRESENT: ABSENT: CouncilmenlMembers Dring, Haltom, Hannah, Lojeski, Pellegrino None Agenda items for the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m. were explored. Hearings for May 18 were scheduled on three items, as follows: 1. Tract Map 32873 -'12-unit residential condominium at 302 S. Second Avenue. 2. Text Amendment 82-2 to bring the subdivision regulations into consistency with recent revisions to the State Sub- division Map Act. 3. Text Amendment 82-3 adding regulations pertaining to small car parking standards, Two Consent Items on the agenda were pulled for individual considera- tion (Administrative Agreement, Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance Program for 1982-83) and plans and specifications for the proposed relief sewer line project on Huntington Drive. Request of the Methodist Hospital for permission to hang three tempo- rary banners for its 25th Anniversary Celebration. It was noted that heretofore commercially zoned properties have been restricted to one banner 32 sq. ft. The request is for three of much larger size, which it was felt is excessive in view of the regulation with which other companies have had to comply. It was MOVED by Councilman Haltom, seconded by Councilman Dring and carried on roll call vote as follows, that the banners be approved for the dates specified, but that they be restricted to the 32 sq. ft. dimension. AYES NOES ABSENT: Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Hannah, Lojeski, Pellegrino None None Pursuant to a communication submitted to Council in the last Newsletter c0ncerning requests for City gifts or mementoes, discussion ensued on suitable items and the need for something appropriate when the 1982 Olympics are here. This will be discussed during budget considerations. Councilman Hannah was officially appointed to the Los Angeles County Sanitation District as the alternate representative. Scheduled a tour of City facilities for Friday, May 21, 1982 at 9:00 a.m. Contents of the Newsletters discussed. Some of the material will be discontinued but is available in the office of the City Manager. -1- 5-4-82 L' Ie.. 7' ~. ~p ~ APPOINTMENT HISTORICAL COMMISSION 25:0479 The Water Manager explained in detail an item on the agenda concerning authorization to advertise for bids for water meters. Communication from Earl F. Stanek concerning the function of the traffic signals on Santa Anita Avenue, primarily at Santa Clara and Campus Drive. The Director of Public Works advised that the system is the best that can be done until such time as Santa Anita Avenue can become part of the Traffic Coordinator Computer System. It is hoped this can be accomplished prior to the Oak Tree Meet in October of this year. Some discussion held on an item on the agenda relating to Foothill Boulevard development overlooking the residential area of Laurel Avenue. It was the consensus that an in-depth study be made. This item to be considered- at the regular meeting. On MOTION by Councilman Haltom, seconded by Councilman Lojeski and carried unanimously, Mrs. Barbara Regan was appointed to the newly created Arcadia Historical Commission.
