CALL RESOLUTION NO. 5071 ADOPTED (OLYMPIC COMMISSION) .- V- VARIOUS UPDATES ON PROJECTS j I 25:0596 M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 5, 1982 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjourned regular session at 7 p.m. in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room October 5, 1982, PRESENT: ABSENT : Councilmen Dring, Haltom, Lojeski, Pellegrino Councilman Hannah On MOTION by Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and carried unanimously, Councilman Hannah was excused. Councilman Dring presented, read the title of Resolution No. 5071, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ~ING RESOLUTION NO. 5060 DELETING THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPOINT THE OFFICERS OF THE OLYMPIC COMMISSION," and MOVED that the reading of the full text be waived and that same be ADOPTED. MOTION seconded by Councilman Lojeski and carried on roll call vote as follows: AYES NOES ABSENT : Councilmen Pring, Haltom, Lojeski, Pellegrino None Councilman Hannah Staff brought Council up-to-date on the status of certain developments; i.e., staff is close to presenting the final draft on the Cadillac Fairview project proposed for the Par-3 golf course site; that staff is also meeting with the Planning Commission to bring it up-to-date on projects; appraisals have been received for the Huntington Drive and Fifth Avenue site; also financial data relating to RPI - all of which will be submitted to Council shortly. In response to a question by Councilman Haltom, staff said in part that they have had conversations with County Supervisor Schabarum's office about acquiring the County Park in Arcadia - the County is considering it - and that staff has not solicited any proposals as they were not directed to do so.... Also, there is a question as to which Federal agency would have control of the disposition of the property. In response to questions by Councilman Lojeski, staff advised that a meeting had been held with the principals of the 10.5 acre industrial property in Chicago Park; that Mr. Hendler is in Europe; that they are leary of doing anything at this time due to the market. Staff also has met with Acapulco Real Estate Division representatives advis- ing them that the rent would be increased '" this was taken under advisement by Acapulco. The restriping of Parking District Numbers 1 and 2 should be before the Parking Place Commission soon. Discussion ensued on the need for policy on appeals from the Modifica- tion Committee; that sometimes when a project is brought to Council on appeal, the plane have been revised. It wes MOVED by Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and carried unanimously that staff be directed to indicate to the City Council when plans have been changed. This would assist the Council in its deliberations. -1- 10-5-82 }-, 25:0597 VARIOUS UPDATES ON PROJECTS (cont I d) The City Manager asked Council to consider a date in November to review the draft Cable TV Franchise ordinance. This meeting and a meeting with the School Board will be scheduled when Councilman Hannah returns. The City Manager noted that the Police Department will be having an exhibit of the K9 Division for ,the Downey Police Depar.tment, in front of City Hall. ,~ .., Commendations will be prepared for the Los Angeles Police Department in providing its helicopter in a recent successful apprehension of a robber anq rapist in the City. ... Also for the ,local Police in its effort, of which the City is very proud, ::p::tmentl. s are being .~\ all-in- Staff presented a brief update on the Dial-A-Ride program -- fast approaching the 2,000-passenger per week mark. Efforts made,to solve some mechanical problems with the vans ... but all, things are working smoothly. " Council entered a CLOSED SESSION, reconvened and adjourned sine die.
