Staff brought Council up-to-date on the status of certain developments;
i.e., staff is close to presenting the final draft on the Cadillac
Fairview project proposed for the Par-3 golf course site; that staff
is also meeting with the Planning Commission to bring it up-to-date
on projects; appraisals have been received for the Huntington Drive
and Fifth Avenue site; also financial data relating to RPI - all of
which will be submitted to Council shortly.
In response to a question by Councilman Haltom, staff said in part
that they have had conversations with County Supervisor Schabarum's
office about acquiring the County Park in Arcadia - the County is
considering it - and that staff has not solicited any proposals as
they were not directed to do so.... Also, there is a question as to
which Federal agency would have control of the disposition of the
property.
In response to questions by Councilman Lojeski, staff advised that a
meeting had been held with the principals of the 10.5 acre industrial
property in Chicago Park; that Mr. Hendler is in Europe; that they
are leary of doing anything at this time due to the market. Staff
also has met with Acapulco Real Estate Division representatives advis-
ing them that the rent would be increased '" this was taken under
advisement by Acapulco. The restriping of Parking District Numbers 1
and 2 should be before the Parking Place Commission soon.
Discussion ensued on the need for policy on appeals from the Modifica-
tion Committee; that sometimes when a project is brought to Council
on appeal, the plane have been revised.
It wes MOVED by Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Haltom and
carried unanimously that staff be directed to indicate to the City
Council when plans have been changed. This would assist the Council
in its deliberations.
