CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
and the
ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 18, 1983
The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment
Agency met in an adjourned regular session Tuesday, January 18, 1983
at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT: Councilmen/Members Dring, Haltom, Hannah, Lojeski, Pellegrino
ABSENT None
Agenda items for the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m. this date
were explored and staff responded to questions.
Received appeal from Dan Anderson of 943 Kingsley Drive from the denial
by the Planning Commission of his application for a Home Occupation
Permit. Discussion on this subject, which was scheduled for a public
hearing before Council on February 1, included observations made by
Councilman Lojeski to the effect that as Liaison to the Commission, he
was asked to bring 'this to the attention of Council. The Commission
would like to see the appeal process changed by virtually eliminating
the Commission in the appeal process. It was agreed that a meeting
with the Commission would be helpful and a joint meeting was scheduled
for Wednesday, February 2 at 7 p.m.
Council received and accepted the invitation from the Principa-l-of the
High School to participate in the Jog-a-Thon to be held on February 9
at 6 p.m. between the Board of Education and the City Council. 'This
will be a feature event.
Staff advised of the need for a heating system to serve certain offices
in the City Hall - also the lowering of ceilings in some offices which
will reduce heating and cooling costs. It was recommended by Councilman
Dring, seconded by Councilman Lojeski and carried on roll call vote as
follows that staff be authorized to prepare plans and specifications, as
needed, for the lowering of the ceilings in 'certain offices; changing
the lighting system, and for the installation of the two new heating/
cooling units for Planning and Building and the Print Shop. Authoriza-
tion was also given to advertise for bids. Capital Outlay Fund project.
