CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 16, 1980
The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California met in an adjourned
regular session on September 16, 1980 at 7:00 p.m. in the Arcadia City
Hall Conference Room.

Councilmen Dring, Gilb, Haltom, Saelid, Pellegrino

Council explored the items to be considered at the regular meeting to
convene at 7:30 p.m. this date. One of the items - that concerning HCD
Funding Budget (item 4d) was removed from the agenda and will be sub-
mitted October 7.
It was MOVED by Councilman Dring, seconded by Councilman Gilb and carried
on roll call vote as follows that the request of George Gonzales for per-
mission to display a temporary banner at his La Pinata Restaurant, 200
E. foothill Boulevard be APPROVED for a maximum period of 60 days.

In response to a question by Councilman Gilb the City Attorney advised
that an ordinance relating to this matter should come before Council for
consideration in about two weeks.
It was MOVED by CounciUnan Dring, seconded by Councilman Gilb and carried
on roll call vote as follows that the provisions of the Procedural Ordi-
nance be waived in order to consider the two resolutions relating to the
serving of hard liquor on the concourse of the bowling lanes following the
public hearing on the agenda for the regular meeting.

The Finance Director was requested to present a report to the Council on
the admissions tax imposed by cities at the major horse racing tracks in
Ca lifornia.
