(U '{ 'J It') ,;) ~lli('! \A~PPOINTMENT (SISTER CITY COMMISSION) SENIOR CITIZENS I (March 21) PARKING / (Handicapped) J MARQUEE WEST (March 15) ADJOURNMENT 23:9462 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MARCH 7, 1978 The City Council met in an adjourned regular session on Tuesday, March 7, 1978 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None The City Council reviewed the communication from Lawrence T. Papay, President of the Santa Anita Oaks Homeowners Association, concerning the question of traffic safety in the subject area. The ~ommunication sets forth three items and the City Council took the following action. It was MOVED by Member Gilb, seconded by Member Lauber and carried on roll call vote as follows that the request for four- way boulevard stop signs at the intersection of Rodeo/Hacienda and Arbolada/San Carlos for a trial period of six months be approved; that the other two items 1) concerning pavement turn arro~s and lane dividing lines and 2) some type of mechanism to Unprove visibility relating to the new median strip, be referred to staff to work with the Homeowners' Association. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None None On MOTION by Member Gilb, seconded by Mayor Saelid and carried unanimously Jack W. Barnes, 1200 W. Huntington Drive, was appointed to fill out the unexpired term of Mrs. Bobby Considine to the Sister City Commission. This term will expire June 30, 1980. Discussion held on appointments to the newly created Senior Citizens' Commission. This will be an agenda item for March 21. The Police Chief will seek cooperation from business associations relative to parking for the handicapped. /' The Fire Department will provide the City Council with a full report on the current situation at the Marquee West on March 15. Some agenda items explored. At 7:30 p.m. the meeting adjourned sine die. Mayor 3-7-78
