CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
JUNE 5, 1979
The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California met in
adjourned regular session on June 5, 1979 at 7 p.m. in the
Conference Room of the Arcadia City Hall.
PRESENT:
ABSENT:
Councilmen Gilb, Parry, Pellegrino, Saelid, Margett
None
The City Manager explained that it is now necessary to prepare
an environmental impact report for the specific purpose of the
proposed installation of the Athletic Field lighting system for
the multipurpose playfield project; that an initial study did
not disclose any significant effect on ,the environment within
the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act and
a Negative Declaration has been prepared for this installation.
Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Parry, seconded by
Councilman Saelid and carried on roll call vote as follows that
the Negative Declaration be and it is hereby APPROVED and that
the staff be authorized to transmit same to the State Department
of Parks and Recreation.

The City Manager reported on bids received and the recommendation
for the award of contract for the recoating of Orange Grove
Reservoir Nos. 3 and 4.

It was MOVED by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilman Pellegrino
and carried on roll call vote as follows that the contract be
awarded to the low bidder, Wilson & Hampton, Painting Contractors,
in the amount of $178,500; that all other bids be rejected; that
any informalities or irregularities in the bids or bidding process
be waived and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute
the contract in form approved by the City Attorney.

In connection with the June 9 auction of police items to be conducted
by the Police Department it was MOVED by Councilman Saelid, seconded
by Councilman Gilb and carried on roll call vote as follows that a
minimum of $450 each be authorized for vehicles which are to be
auctioned.

Scheduled for October 2 on the recommendation of the Planning
Commission for denial of a text amendment adding a Home Occupation
Ordinance to the Arcadia Municipal Code.
It was MOVED by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilman Saelid
carried on roll call vote as follows that the following
reappointments be made for full four year terms expiring
June 30, 1983,

Discussion continued on an appointment to the Planning Commission -
primarily to replace Thomas Clarke who has asked that he not be
considered for reappointment. Some of the Council members felt
they would like to delay this appointment until they have had an
opportunity to interview those who have indicated an interest.
However, a MOTION by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilman Saelid
to make this appointment at this time did not carryon roll call
vote.
The meeting adjourned sine die at 7:00 p.m,
