CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 18, 1979
The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California met
in adjourned regular session on Tuesday, September 18,
1979 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT:
ABSENT:
Councilmen Gilb, Parry, Saelid, Pellegrino
Mayor Margett
On MOTION by Councilman Gilb, seconded by Councilman Parry and
carried unanimously Mayor Margett was excused.
Agenda items for the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m. this
date were explored.
The Planning Director advised of a subdivision being created in
the City of Monrovia part of which is located within the boundary
of Arcadia. Staff will prepare an analysis of the entire project
including procedure for de-annexation, etc.
Police Captain Billy Oliver introduced Police Officer Dan Morgan who
has been appointed Sergeant. Congratulations were extended.
Some discussion held on the fence at the east end of California
Street which makes it impossible to have a turn-around for vehicles.
The Director of Public Works advised that it is his understanding
that the fence is to be removed by the School District. He will
check this out. Also the Store at the northwest corner of First
Avenue and California Street needs parking area.... it seems the
contractors are parking in the available spaces ... and usually
for the entire day.
The Economic Coordinator brought up the request of the Datsun
Company for permission to lease city owned property adjacent to
theirs on a temporary basis. Some discussion held.
The Fire Chief briefly discussed the multi-city consolidated fire
communication system with the Cities of Arcadia] El Monte, Monrovia
and Sierra Madre.
At 7:30 p.m. the meeting adjourned sine die.
