HomeMy WebLinkAboutMAY 17,1977 ROLL CALL I I ADJOURNMENT 22:9228 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MAY 17, 1977 The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California met in adjourned regular session on May 17 at 6 p.m. in the Conference Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Council Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None This was the time set aside by Council to receive input on the water situation. Conrad T. Reibold, Vice President of the Board of Directors Division 1 of the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District, sub~itted statistics and a written report of his re~arks to the City Council. The Water Manager advised that staff is preparing a guide for less water and also submitted the need for 1,554 additional water kits at a cost of $2,641.80. Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Parry, seconded by Council Member Lauber and carried on roll call vote as follows that $2,641.80 be appropriated from General Contingency Account for the purchase of 1,554 additional wate~ kits. AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Council Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None None It was noted that hereafter the kits will be sold at cost - $1.70 each. The City Manager advised tha~ a meeting will be held with the Manager of Fashion Park, the Chief of Police and staff, concerning the security situation in the shopping center. Communication will also be directed to Robert Strub indicating the 21.6% personnel load carried by the Police Department in this regard. A recent accident which occurred on San Carlos Road was explored and the Director of Public Works will meet with the Homeowners of the area. Agenda items were then explained by the City Manager. The election of the Health Systems will be held on June 21 and absentee ballots will be available for those unable to vote in person. All Council members were in favor of notifying the State Highway Commission that it strongly endorses the completion of the Long Beach Freeway at the earliest possible time.
