HomeMy WebLinkAboutJULY 27,1977 I ROLL CALL PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 1601 (Residential Parties) TABLED I 22:9275 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JULY 27, 1977 The City Council of the City of Arcadia, met in adjourned regular session on Wednesday, July 27, 1977 at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall. PRESENT: ABSENT: Council Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None Discussion held at length on this proposed ordinance. The Chief of Police presented the position of the Police Department and explained a new approach and procedure which is soon to go into operation. It will be a door-to-door approach and a brochure will be presented to the residents with information on minimizing burglaries, fire prevention methods, civil defense preparation and with further information on the cooperation and responsibility of the homeowner with reference to parties. He recommended a delay in the adoption of the ordinance. Council members presented individual observations with relation to the need for control avenues to prevent out-af-hand situations which create traffic, parking, noise and other problems for which they are seeking solutions. It was the consensus of Council that the recommendation of the Police Chief has merit at this time and it was MOVED by Council Member Lauber, seconded by Council Member Gilb and carried on roll call vote as follows that consideration of the proposed ordinance be TABLED and that Council's policy be one of more rigid enforcement of the existing ordinance s . AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Council Members Gilb, Lauber, Margett, Parry, Saelid None None At 5:10 p.m. Council entered an executive session.
