HomeMy WebLinkAboutMAY 10,1973 I I ROLL CALL MINUTES 20:8286 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MAY 10, 1973 The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in an adjourned regular session on Thursday, May 10, 1973 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Arcadia City Hall. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmen Scott, Hage, Helms, Arth Councilman Butterworth On MOTION by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Hage and ca~ried Councilman Butterworth was excused from this meeting. Pr~or to consideration of the budget theCity.Manager advised on several matters. 1) Notification of the proposal by the Flood Control District to carry debris through designated city streets. The conditions imposed when a similar project was permitted a few years back will be applicable in this case. 2) Notification that there will be two employees (under the Federal Public Program) working within the city to update the land use map. 3) Notification that the City did not receive any bids for the supply of gasoline for the ensuing year via the formal bid process. He was granted permission to proceed through other channels. Discussion also held on fire control through the use of helicopters. BUDGET REVIEW The City Manager submitted the proposed budget for 1973-74 which was prefaced with reports on themajor statistics and highlights. He noted it is a balanced budget with expenditures and costs on the increase. Schedules 1 through 8 explored with the City Manager reporting on ea~h. Data Processing discussed with the information that Anaheim will henceforth be a part of the same group. Some discussion on what to expect from the County relating to taxation. Nothing definite yet. Discussion held on the rental the School District pays for the land used for its Continuation School. It is $120 per month now. Councilman Scott would like to see it eliminated. A yearly fee of $100 was given consideration. However before any decision is made theCity Attorney will check out the agreement with the district. CITY COUNCIL CITY MANAGER 01-401 : 01-402: No Changes No Changes Discussion held city vehicles. summary on this on replacement of Staff to provide a matter. CITY.CLERK 01-403: Employee Services - temporary and overtime- increased from $1500 to $2500. Total change to $45,547. CITY ATTORNEY 01-405: No change. Discussion held on whether or not the amount allocated for mileage is sufficient. FINANCE 01-407: No change Prior to adjournment some discussion held on the inadequacy of the facilities of the Council Chamber including the sound system. Staff to provide some alternatives in this direction. At 9:30 p.m., the meeting adjourned to May 15, 1973 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room.
