On MOTION by Councilman Helms, seconded by Councilman Butterworth and
carried unanimously Dr. Dennis Lojeski, with offices at 150 N. Santa
Anita Avenue, was appointed to the Parking Place Commission for a term
to expire June 30, 1976. This will fill the vacancy created by the
demise of Donald S: Camphouse.
Mayor Arth commended the Santa Anita Race Track on its effort to assist
in the fuel crisis by offering incentives to patrons of the track to use
car pools, the buses and the like.
Council received material submitted by Gerald Murray concerning
pollution and its effect when Fashion Park becomes a reality. Mr.
Murray had addressed Council in this regard at the last regular
meeting. Included therein were statements attributed to Prof.
Goldsmith concerning the health hazard to residents.
Council discussed the matter briefly and presented their individual
viewpoints. It was the consensus of Council that the report prepared
by Ultra-Systems, Inc., be reviewed by staff; that the said company
be advised of the material submitted by Mr. 'Murray and that it be
requested to advise whether or not in its opinion there would be a
health hazatd. Based on these findings Council would proceed.
Other agencies will be contacted also - i.e., City of Hope, etc.
