CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 1, 1974
The City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, met in
adjourned regular session on October 1, 1974 at 7 p.m. in the
City Hall Council Chamber.
PRESENT:
ABSENT:
Council Members GiIb, Helms, La,uber,_.Saelid,. Scott
None
Discussion held on the appointment of an independent auditor for the
fiscal year 1974-75. Staff will explore various firms and report back
to Counci 1.
Councilman Helms MOVED that Mayor Scott and Mayor Protempore Gilb be
designated as the Delegate and Alternate respectively to attend the
business sessions of the forthcoming Conference of the League to be
held in Los Angeles.
Mayor Scott was authorized to appoint an Arcadia Chairman for United
Nations Day.
The City Manager advised that the preliminary pla~s should soon be
ready for review with the final plans expected by the' end of the year.
The City Manager advised of the unavailability of federal or state
funds for telecasting meetings. He also reported on the question of
Channel 3 making available its equipment for use by High School
students to telecast or tape Council meetings - they were willing to
make this equipment available and the High School could provide student
personnel but they would have to leave by.9:45 p.m. in order to be
home by 10 p.m.
Discussion on the purchase of a sound level monitor. This will be
considered in the regular meeting scheduled for this date.
Progress report on the refurbishing of the Council Chamber will be
presented to Council a~ the next regular meeting (October 15).
Mayor Scott commended the City Manager on his report on. a recent
conference.
At 7:25 p.m. the meeting adjourned sine die.
