HomeMy WebLinkAboutMAY 30,1972 ROLL CALL I EXECUTIVE SESSION RECONVENE I CRA EXECUTIVE SESSION RECONVENE & ADJOURNMENT 19: 8074 M I NUT E S CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MAY 30, 1972 The City Council of the City of Arcadia met in an adjourned regular session on May 30, 1972 at 7:30 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Arcadia City Hall for the primary purpose of continuing its review of the preliminary budget for the fiscal year 1972-73 as submitted by the City Manager. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmen Arth, Butterworth, Helms, Scott, Rage None Consideration of all departmental budgets had been completed however a few remaining items required the attention of Council. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUDGET as submitted by that organization. It was reviewed and met with the concurrence of the Counci 1. ARCADIA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES request for an increase to $4000 received, It was the consensus of Council that $2500 would be acceptable. It was submitted during the discussion that additional methods of raising funds for the float should be ex- plored by the association, This in an effort to involve the residents in the project. This matter will be before Council at the public hearing on the budget to be held June 6, Any change in the budgeted amount requires official action. AMBULANCE SERVICE At the last adjourned regular meeting discussion was held on the possibility of the city operating its own ambulance and service. The City Manager will check insurance rates for the city and also those the Arcadia-Monrovia Ambulance Service pays. COLORADO LANDSCAPING It was noted that this matter was to be resolved prior to the adoption of the new budget. It will be an agenda item for June 6. HUGO REID CLOSURE Will also be an agenda item for June 6. At 8:30 p.m., Council entered an executive session. At 9:10 p,m, Council reconvened. The Economic Coordinator explained in detail what could be accomplished under the Community Redevelopment Program taking in the area known as the future Fashion Park and the so called downtown area. He circulated a proposed boundary map. Council evinced interest and a desire for more information and time fo~ study. It was noted that the first step in such proceedings would be the adoption of an appropriate resolution designating a survey area which would then be referred to the Planning Commission for further study and recommendation.
