ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING (STUDY SESSION)
September 14. 1994
The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an
Adjourned Regular Meeting (Study Session) on Wednesday, September
14. 1994, at 5:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the City Hall
Council Chamber.

Councilmembers Chang, Kuhn, Lojeski, Margett, and Young

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM STAFF REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS
The City Attorney distributed a newly printed agenda, necessitated
by a recent change in the Brown Act which had just come to his
attention. The word "salaryll was removed from the agenda item
pertaining to the closed session. The Brown Act now stipulates
that the salary of unrepresented. non-union employees may not be
discussed in a closed session.
ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS, STATEMENTS OF ELECTED OFFICIALS
Mayor Young announced that on Saturday there will be a trip to
County Sanitation District facilities. Anyone interested may
attend. There will be a tour of the San Jose recycling facilities,
the facilities in Carson, and the Commerce trash burner.
Councilmember Lojeski commented on the difficulty some residents
had in finding their polling place in yesterday's Special Primary
Election for State Senator. Some people went to the polling place
at schools where they had been assigned to vote only to find that
the polling place had been changed to another location.
Councilmember Margett explained that in many cases there were
last-minute changes by the Registrar-Recorder's office in an
effort to consolidate polling places in all of the 59th Assembly
District, not just Arcadia.

A Closed Session was held pursuant to Government Code Sections
54957 and 54957.6 to discuss public employment and evaluation with
designated representative (City Manager) regarding unrepresented
employees: Administrative Services Director/Finance Director,
Economic Development Administrator. Public Works Director.
At 5:40 p..... the City Council entered a CLOSED SESSION.
RECONVENED and ADJOURNED at 6:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, on Tuesday.
September 20, 1994, in the City Hall Council Chambers for a
Regular Meeting to conduct the business of the Council and the
Redevelopment Agency, and any Closed Session necessary to discuss
personnel, litigation matters or evaluation of properties.
