Fire Chief Gardner introduced Larry Wolff, principal architect,
and Max Medina, project architect, of the firm, Wolff, Lang and
Christopher, architects for the design of Fire Station No. 2

concept drawings for the project in March of 1992, and for the
past eleven months Mr. Wolff and Mr. Medina have been working on
the actual plans and specifications. The final plans have been
through the plan check process at the City Building Division and
are ready to be put out to bid after approval by the Council and
authorization to call for bids.
Mr. Medina gave a brief overview of the 12,500 square foot
project, noting the construction period is eleven months. Staff
added that the architects' final estimate is a little below the
orfginal budget estimate and includes construction of the new
facility and demolition of the present building. Mr. Wolff
commented that the bid process will be open to competitive bids
from any general contractor meeting the requirements of the
contract documents, who is capable of posting the required bond
and has the necessary licenses.
