He suggested that it would be nice to invite the team to attend a Council meeting so that Council may recognize this accomplishment. Council agreed. Councilman Lojeski expressed his appreciation to the City Water Division, Engineers, for their quick response to the water problem at the Towne Center building. Due to a valve that had to be replaced (the City had sent a notice to the 0,"" r of the building a year or so ago), the water was scheduled to be turned off from 6:00 to 10:00 a. m. this morning. At 11:45 a,m. there was still no water to the building for any function .,. including the air conditioning system, rest rooms or offices, etcetera. Councilman Lojeski phoned the City Manager and within 5 to 10 minutes City staff had the water back on ... and "saved the day", Mayor Fasching reported that Cliff Goodrich of Santa Anita Race Track requested that Council be aware that the track plans to install four light standards in their parking lot in close proximity to the buildings. The poles will be 80 feet high for illumination around the buildings for security purposes when Santa Anita is op,en at night for off-track wagering, In particular, Hollywood Park Friday night racing, which will begin very soon. Representatives of Santa Anita have been to the City Planning Department to inquire if the City has any code restrictions or regulations governing this type of installation. According to staff there are no codes applicable to this '" the track parking lot is in a race track zone and there are no permits required. Councilmen Harbicht and Lojeski questioned the absence of building standards for the installation of an 80 foot pole since there could be a safety factor involved.
