ROLL CALL APPOINTMENT (Giffis) AGENDA ITEMS I CLOSED SESSION ADJOURNt~ENT SINE DIE MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 2, 1984 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjourned session at 7 p.m. October 2, 1984 in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young, Hannah None It was MOVED by Councilmember Young. seconded by Councilmember Pelle- grino and'carried unanimously that Howard Giffis be appointed to fill the vacancy on the Arcadia Beautiful Commission expiring June 30, 1988. (Mr. Giffis replaces Lorraine Fricke). Communication to go to all others who evinced an interest in being appointed to this Commission... thanking them for their willingness to serve. Agenda correction on Item 7b -- time extension for the use of a temporary bank should read August 22, 19B5. Staff advised that an item reflected in the September 27 Newsletter with reference to the All Western Band Review in Arcadia will not be considered at this time. The City Attorney explained a proposed Loitering and Trespass Ordinance and said that the existing ordinances are old and unenforceable and really not legal. It would also address problems with loitering until 1 a.m. at the In-n-Out Burger stand between Santa Anita and First Avenue on Colorado and other instances. Such an ordinance will be prepared for Council consideration. A scheduled meeting with the Planning Commission for Tuesday October 9 will not be held, therefore the meeting with architects for the pro- posed Civic Center will be held at 6 p.m. on that date. However, a new date will be made for the Planning Commission joint meetinQ. A tentative meeting with the School Board was also cancelled. Mrs. Young commented that a meeting she attended regarding interviews for a new School Superintendent was most interesting. New re-design for the City Seal was approved. Council member Young was advised that the situation with trash bins, etc. in the rear of the Granada Royale Hometel has been cleared up. The Economic Coordinator introduced his new assistant, James Kasama. He was formerly with the City of Cudahy. Council entered a CLOSED SESSION to discuss litigation and convened at 7:28 p.m. ~~ Christlne Van Maanen, City Clerk The meeting adjourned sine die at 7:30 p.m. -1- 10-2-84
