ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 6, 1984
The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment
Agency met in an adjourned regular session at 7 p.m. November 6, 1984
in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT: Counci1members Gi1b, Lojeski, Young, Pellegrino
ABSENT: Mayor Hannah
On MOTION by Councilman Lojeski, seconded by Councilwoman Youno and
carried Mayor Hannah was excused.
The City Manager noted items of interest distributed at this meeting:
1) chronological history of the Falzone project (on agenda for the
regular meeting this date), 2) a resume' concerning the new Personnel
Director, Madalyn Martinez, 3) correspondence from the County Boardl
Supervisors regarding gang violence and an article from the Los Angeles
Times concerning Proposition 36 which was submitted by a resident.
Hearing was scheduled for December 4 on the Appeal filed by the Equip
Rent Company in connection with a Conditional Use Permit at 102 West
Las Tunas Drive.
The City Manager then referred to his Newsletter of October 25 which
included a memorandum regarding a property maintenance ordinance and
enforcement procedures. The City Attorney will proceed with the
preparation and during the interim will also prepare a list of the
differences in the existing and proposed ordinance on property main-
tenance. .

Staff advised that the completed Wi11dan Report should be ready for
the November 20 agenda. Councilwoman Young expressed a desire to
have it prior to that date if possible.
Council received a report in the November 1 Newsletter concerning the
purchase of microfilm equipment which would meet the needs of all
departments. It was MOVED by Counc i 1 man Gil b, seconded by Counc i I -
woman Young and carried on roll call vote as follows that staff be
AUTHORIZED to prepare and issue a Request for Proposal for this
equipment pursuant to the listed equipment in staff report dated
October 29, 1984.

Discussion ensued on commercial retail uses in the CPD-l zone out-
lined in a staff report dated November 1, 1984. It was pointed out
therein that if developers had a better understanding of the uses
which may be permitted, their proposed projects could be made more
definitive. Whereupon it was MOVED by Councilman Lojeski, seconded
by Mayor Pro Tempore Pellegrino and carried that staff be directed
to initiate the appropriate Text Amendment which would clarify
Council's intentions for this particular zone.
Council then entered a CLOSED SESSION on litiga ion.
