FEBRUARY 19, 1985 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjourned regular session at 7:00 p. m., February 19, 1985 in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room. PRESENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young and Hannah ABSENT: None Mayor Hannah advised that a Citizen Resume had been received for the Sister City Commission. This being the only one received thus far, it will be held for one month and considered later. The public hearing on the proposed Underground Utilities District No. 10 -- Baldwin Avenue from Orange Grove to Hamptom Road -- was scheduled for March 5, 1985. Council was reminded of forthcoming meeting with CALTRANS on February 22 at 2:00 p. m. Councilmembers Gilb and Lojeski will be in attendance, Council acknowledged a communication from Robert Harbicht concerning the current regulation which permits riding bicycles' on sidewalks. He felt this should be changed. Council concurred in Councilmember Gilb's observation that there haven't been any problems with the present regulation and felt the City should abide with its current policy. He noted, in part, that children often learn to ride bicycles on sidewalks in residential areas ,-- it is not permitted in commercial areas. Request for funding from the East San Gabriel Valley Hotline. It was the consensus of the City Council that, inasmuch as the City is fund- ing its own Hotline and from the material submitted by the ESGV Hotline, Arcadia does not wish to take advantage of this service. The request was not granted. The City Attorney responded to Councilmember Gilb's concern about the cars which have been parked on property at 43 E. Orange Grove Avenue -- that, pending response to the City Attorney's notice to Claude A. Parker, legal steps will b€ taken to remedy the situation which has been ongoing for some time. Councilmember Young advised that a seminar will be held March 2 in Duarte by the San Gabriel Valley Association of Cities relating to forming a San Gabriel Valley District of the League Of Cal ifo,rnia Cities. This is to be an information only seminar. Pursuant to the Brown Act, Government Code Section 54946.8, the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency entered a CLOSED SESSION to discuss negotiations for the possible acquisition of property at 29 N', Third Avenue and other properties on Third Avenue. 2/19/85 -1- 25 :1165 Council reconvened at 7:30 p. m. and ADJOURNED IMMEDIATELY thereafter sine die.
