PRESENT; Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young and Hannah ABSENT; None The City Manager presented two communications concerning an agenda item to be considered this date at the regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p. m. They pertained to tentative map of Tract No. 44034. Also a communication from Group W Cable advising that it hopes to have a formal decision following the Board of Directors' Meeting of Westinghouse Electric Corporation on April 24, 1985. This is on the agreement which had been negotiated by the City and Group W. Also a communication from Mrs. Marie Hart who is appealing the decision of the Architectural Review Board of the Santa Anita Village Associa- tion to the Planning Commission. Mrs. Hart asks that the appeal fee of $300 be waived. Mayor Hannah MOVED that the appeal fee be WAIVED. Councilmember Pellegrino seconded the motion which did not carryon the following roll call vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmembers Pellegrino, Hannah Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Young None (NOTE: This matter was later reconsidered and the requirement for the fee was WAIVED. See Page No.8 of the Minutes of the regular meeting this date.) Hearing on the Precise Plan for a showroom to be constructed at 333 E. Huntington Drive was scheduled for May 7, 1985. The request of the Women Artists of the American West for financial assistance was DENIED on MOTION by Councilmember Gilb, seconded by Councilmember Lojeski and CARRIED on roll call vote as follows: AYES; NOES: ABSENT; Council members' Gilb, Lojeski, Pellegrino, Young and Hannah None None Staff briefed the members on the redevelopment brochure. Comments and suggestions of Council will be considered by staff. Council member Lojeski apologized for the cancellation of the Santa Anita Little League's Pancake Breakfast on March 30 due to a power outage. Jt will be rescheduled. 4/2/85 -1- 25 :1194 PERKINS A V. ~ TRAFFIC ~ '-7 NOISE BARRIER '?~ FREEWAY ~ Councilmember Lojeski asked for a report on improving the traffic safety factor on Perkins Avenue. Councilmember Young advised that Caltrans will be at Edward Zareh's home on April 8 at 8:00 a. m. to take readings and Mr. Zareh invites members of the City Council to attend if they can arrange it. It seems Caltrans is challenging the readings taken by consultant, J.J. Van Houten. ADJOURNMENT ..SINE DIE COUNCIL ADJOURNED TO A CLOSED SESSION -- RECONVENED AT 7~30 p. m.
