ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING

Agency met in an adjourned regular session at 7:00 p. m., June 4,1985
in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room.
PRESENT:
ABSENT:

Councilmember Hannah
. On MOTION by Councilmember Lojeski, seconded by Councilmember Young
and CARRIED, Councilmember Hannah was EXCUSED.
The City Manager referred to a communication from the Arcadia Methodist,
Hospital regarding the pedestrian bridge; Senior Citizens' Commission
vacancies; communication from Historical Commissioner, Alice Slater
indicating her desire to be reappointed and several letters concerning
signs in English.
Reference was also made to the memorandum on the proposed City Fact
Sheet which will contain one additional item concerning hours of
construction. Distribution was discussed and the Fact Sheet will
be available at various locations ... the Board of Realtor's Office,
the Chamber of Commerce, and various departments in City Hall. It
was the consensus of Council that it be printed in English only.
Council also considered a proposed communication to the Los Angeles
County Supervisor concerning the Museum site and the maintenance of
the rose gardens. Council did not feel the City should take on this
task. Alternatives were explored and Councilmember Gilb will contact
the Supervisor and Mayor Pellegrino will see if Holy Angels Church
would be interested in taking over the maintenance of the grounds.
The communication will be held over.
Council then considered items on the agenda for the regular meetin9
to convene this evening. One relating to the aerial maps. Staff advised
about the bids received (one lower than American and one higher) and,
based on the City's experience with American Aerial Survey, Inc. and
the quality of the work, it was recommended that the same company be
retained to do the survey. Action will be taken 'on this item lafer in
the regular meeting.
The item on the agenda for the regular meeting concerning sale of safe
and sane fireworks ... corrections were made in two of the locations for
such sales. One of the applications was made for the Arcadia Little
League ... not sufficiently identified as to which Little League. This
will be checked out and staff will proceed ... instead of holding it up.
