HomeMy WebLinkAboutJUNE 4,1985 25:1245 CIT~ COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS ARE TAPE RECORDED AND ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CIT~ CLERK 1 ROLL CALL VARIOUS ITEMS 1 1 G~ # [ sP 1 M I NUT E S CIT~ COUNCIL OF THE CIT~ OF ARCADIA and the ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENC~ ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING JUNE 4, 1985 The City Council of the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met in an adjourned regular session at 7:00 p. m., June 4,1985 in the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Lojeski, Young and Pellegrino Councilmember Hannah . On MOTION by Councilmember Lojeski, seconded by Councilmember Young and CARRIED, Councilmember Hannah was EXCUSED. The City Manager referred to a communication from the Arcadia Methodist, Hospital regarding the pedestrian bridge; Senior Citizens' Commission vacancies; communication from Historical Commissioner, Alice Slater indicating her desire to be reappointed and several letters concerning signs in English. Reference was also made to the memorandum on the proposed City Fact Sheet which will contain one additional item concerning hours of construction. Distribution was discussed and the Fact Sheet will be available at various locations ... the Board of Realtor's Office, the Chamber of Commerce, and various departments in City Hall. It was the consensus of Council that it be printed in English only. Council also considered a proposed communication to the Los Angeles County Supervisor concerning the Museum site and the maintenance of the rose gardens. Council did not feel the City should take on this task. Alternatives were explored and Councilmember Gilb will contact the Supervisor and Mayor Pellegrino will see if Holy Angels Church would be interested in taking over the maintenance of the grounds. The communication will be held over. Council then considered items on the agenda for the regular meetin9 to convene this evening. One relating to the aerial maps. Staff advised about the bids received (one lower than American and one higher) and, based on the City's experience with American Aerial Survey, Inc. and the quality of the work, it was recommended that the same company be retained to do the survey. Action will be taken 'on this item lafer in the regular meeting. The item on the agenda for the regular meeting concerning sale of safe and sane fireworks ... corrections were made in two of the locations for such sales. One of the applications was made for the Arcadia Little League ... not sufficiently identified as to which Little League. This will be checked out and staff will proceed ... instead of holding it up. 6/4/85 -1- 25:1246 Staff responded to Councilmember Gi1b's inquiry about the painting of the Library... that every precaution is being taken to see that the work is performed in the best manner possible. CLOSED SESS ION Council entered a CLOSED SESSION at 7:20 p. m., RECONVENED at 7:30 p. m. and ADJOURNED immediately thereafter sine die.
