NOVEMBER 5, 1985

The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met at
7:00 p. m., November 5, 1985 in the Arcadia City Hall Conference
Room.

Councilmembers Hannah, Lojeski, Young and Pellegrino

On MOTION by Councilmember Hannah, seconded by Councilmember
Young and CARRIED, Councilmember Gi1b was EXCUSED.
Hearings were scheduled for November 19, 1985 on the following
agenda items:
1. Tentative map of Tract No. 44297 to create a 6 lot sub-
division at 126-136 E. Camino Real.
2. Tentative map of Tract No. 29551 for a proposed 6 unit
residential condominium at 406-412 E1 Dorado Street.
3. Appeal of the Planning Commission decision concerning
request to create four lots from two lots at 370 and 380
W. Longden Avenue.
Staff was AUTHORIZED to participate with the City of Monrovia
in creating a task force for a biking, hiking, jogging trail
between the two cities. '
Council was apprised of the type and price of a new plaque for
presentation to citizens. It was the consensus that there is no
need for change at this time.
On MOTION by Councilmember Hannah, seconded by Councilmember
Lojeski and CARRIED on roll call vote as follows an appropriation
of $14,000 from the water fund was AUTHORIZED to obtain two appraisals
concerning a waterline easement at 4030 Live Oak Avenue and to offer
the property owners (Mr. and Mrs. Hubbell) the average value of the
two appraisals for providing the easement. This would be contingent
on the value of the easement being less than the cost of rerouting
the pipeline. It was noted the Water Division is presently construct-
ing a waterline on Second Avenue and Live Oak and this problem surfaced
during this project.

Advised that he has a conflict and will not be able to attend the
Planning Commission meeting on November 12. Another member of the
Council will attend as liaison.

Inquired as to the disposition of the reward money in connection
with the apprehension of the night sta1 ker. It was noted that the
reward was to be forthcoming with the arrest and conviction of the
murderer. Reference was made to a six year old local girl who
would like to receive some of the reward as she would be able to
identify the murderer. She was a kidnap victim and has been under-
going therapy. 'Ihe City Attorney will proviae information to the
family.
The Fire Chief reported on the loss of three defribu1ators from the
Paramedics Department ... they believe they have a line on the person
who took them ... but have not been able to locate the equipment.
The City Manager explained what arrangements have been made for the
forthcoming Tournament of Roses ~arade to be held November 16, 1985.
In response to an inquiry of Counci1member Hannah concerning Best
Disposal, the City Manager,advised that as yet he has not received
a response to his communication setting forth the data needed by
the City. Counci1member Hannah submitted his recent experience with
the Company when requesting service. This will be relayed to the
Company.
At Counci1member Hannah's suggestion, a m~eting will be held at 9:00 a.m.
December 28 on the revenue and expenditures of the Arcadia Redevelopment
Agency.
Advised on,a conflict on November 21 and suggested if anyone could
attend the dinner meeting of the San Gabriel Valley Association of
Cities that night it would be appreciated.
Due to the complaints being received on th~ proliferation of peacocks
in certain areas outside of the Arboretum the next Newletter will
include an item asking residents not to feed the birds along with
information explaining the situation.
Council will enter a CLOSED SESSION following the regular meeting
this date.
