'm., January 7. 1986 in' the Arcadia City Hall Conference Room. PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Hannah, Lojeski, Young and Pellegrino None The City Manager advised that Mayor Pellegrino has scheduled the Board and/or Commission members' dinner for February 27 at the Santa Anita Inn. Also advised that the lottery for housing in Naomi Gardens will be held at 2:00 p. m., January 10, 1986 at the Church of Christ at 1027 S. First Avenue and the Council was invited to attend. The City Manager drew attention to the new brochure welcoming new commerce and development. It is named, "Arcadia" and is directed to new quality professional office, commercial and light industrial firms. Staff wll circulate the brochure to selected businesses. The' City Manager introduced Pol ice Officer Richard Honaker who has been promoted to Captain in the Department. The City Council welcomed 'him and wished him well. Captain Honaker said he would perfonn to the best of his ability and appreciated the opportunity. An item (8b) on the agenda for the regular meeting to convene this date was discussed briefly by Councilmember Lojeski concerning the finn recommended for the award of contract for landscape maintenance (Duke's Landscaping Company). The Director of Public Works explained the City's experience with the firm recommended. Received recent correspondence from the League of California Cities concerning the proposed increase in dues. Arcadia's would be $4,436 per year henceforth ... thi s is based on popul at ion. It was MOVED by Councilmember Gilb, seconded by Councilmember Young and CARRIED on roll call vote as follows that the forthcoming trip be designated as official and that Sister City Commissioner, Edith Casey be designated as the official Chairperson for the trip -- unless a Councilmember goes on the trip in which case he or she will act as the official representative. In response to a question by Council- member Hannah, the City Attorney said there will not be any liability on the part of the City for this journey. Deliveries must now cease between the hours of 10 p. m. and 7 a. m. The Planning Department has been receiving complaints from residents about noise. Council would like to know the number of complaints, etc. BLUTH PROPERTY The Planning Director advised that the first two items on the agenda for the regular meeting this date will be taken as one ... as the same property is involved.
