and the
ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
MARCH 4, 1986
The City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency met at
7:00 p, m" March 4, 1986 in the Arcadia City Hall Conference
Room.
PRESENT: Councilmembers Gilb, Hannah, Lojeski, Young and Pellegrino
ABSENT: None
The City Manager submitted communications from Linda Baum who
would like to represent the City in parades and the like; also
a letter opposi~g the sale of beer and wine at a proposed eating
establishment at 328 E, Footh,ll Boulevard. (This will be considered
by Council at the regular meeting to convene this date at 7:30 p,m,)
Also a report from Van Houten Associates regarding the noise from
the 210 Freeway .., thl s wlll be referred back to the Committee for
review before It comes before the Council agaln, A League/Californla
Cities notice concerning four propositions which will be on the June 3
ballot, a newspaper article on Juvenile Diversion and a letter of
appreciation from James R, Helms to the Council for adjourning a
meeting in memory of nlS father,
Hearings scheduled for March 18, 1986 on the following:
a) ConsideratIon of tentative map 34067, a proposed tentative
map to create a 5-unit residential condominium at 422 El Dorado
Street (Jim Kuhn, applicant).
b) Consideration of LA, 86-1, adding to and amending Sections
of the Arcadia t~unicipal Code pertaining to the "0" Architec-
tural Design Zone procedures and the consideration of re-
vised Design Resolutions for the existing R-O and R-l
zoned areas governed by Home Owners Associations,
c) Report on Underground Utilities District No, 11, Huntington
Drive (including alley to South) between Santa Anita and
Second Avenue,
Councilmember Lojeski was advised that the draft budget for the Museum
is being prepared and a meeting will be held this week with the Commission,
Discussion held on the Arts & Crafts event held on the County Park
property. It seems that it has moved mare northerly near the fountain.
Whether or not it pays sales tax will be looked into by the Finance
Director, although if they have a business license, it is almost
certa i n they do.
Contents of Resolution No. 5279 were discussed, Councilmember Lojeski
said trucks are parked in the area indicated therein (Second and
Huntington). This is an agenda item and will be considered at the
regular meeting.

Councilmember Gilb will discuss the Arts & Crafts events with
Supervisor Schabarum this week and noted the congestion which
occurs during the weekends,
Item IDe -- concerning a contract for providing mandated Cost
Claiming' Services -- will be considered as a separate item at
the regular meeting.
Councilmember Hannah expressed appreciation for the informative report
on Modificaticns, All Council members concurred and commended the '
Planning Director,

In response to an inquiry by Councilmember Gilb as to the status of
the Police Building, staff advised that they are now about to the poinp
where they will need some professional help. ,. they have the floor lr
plans ,., Councilmember Hannah would like an estimate of cost of elevai
tion plans,.. and suggested contact be made with a local architect :(
who might be glad to assist in this, He will contact, as a beginning,:

evaluation.
