MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE READING IN FULL
ROLL CALL
A motion was made by Council Member Chandler, seconded by Council Member Marshall,
and carried on roll call vote to read all ordlnanceslresolutions by title only and waive
reading in full.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION - (5 minutes per person)
Janet Chew, PTSA president Arcadia High School, appeared to update the Council on
activities at the high school.
Two student representatives from Arcadia High School appeared to update the City Council
on various school activities.

Motion
A motion was made by Council Member Segal, seconded by Council Member Chandler, and carried on
roll call vote to approve item 1.a. on the Consent Calendar.

REMARKS BY OUTGOING MAYOR GARY KOVACIC
Outgoing Mayor Gary Kovacic thanked his family, friends, city employees and community organizations
for their assistance during his Mayoral year; he noted the significant accomplishments during Fiscal I
Year 2004-2005; remarked on projects that future City Council will be addressing, and encouraged
Arcadia residents to become more involved in their community.
3. REORGANIZATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
a. City Clerk James Barrows declared the Office of the Mayor of the City of Arcadia to be open and caiied
for nominations for that office for 2005-2006. Council Member Chandler nominated John Wuo as
Mayor of the City of Arcadia for ensuing year. Hearing no further nominations, the City Clerk
announced that nominations for the Office of the Mayor were closed and requested that Council
Members prepare to cast their vote for Council Member John Wuo as Mayor of the City of Arcadia,
Aoril19. 2005 to ADril 18. 2006.

Mayor Wuo assumed the mayor's chair at the council table.
b. Mayor Wuo declared the Office of the Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of Arcadia to be open and caiied
for nominations for that office for the assuming year. Council Member Segal nominated Roger
Chandler as Mayor Pro Tem for 2005.2006. Noting no further nominations the nomination period was
closed. Council Members then prepared to cast their vote for Council Member Roger Chandler as
Mayor Pro -rempore of the City of Arcadia, April 19, 2005 to April1B, 2006.

4. REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY MAYOR WUO

New Mayor John Wuo introduced his family and friends who were in attendance; he thanked his fellow
Council Members for their anticipated support in the upcoming year; he outlined his vision for the
upcoming year in Arcadia, which includes an enhanced school traffic safety, more neighborhood block-
parties and more neighborhood watches being formed.
5. REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY MAYOR PRO TEM ROGER CHANDLER
Mayor Pro Tempore Roger Chandler sent his regards to his wife who was not able to be in attendance
this evening and expressed his pieasure at the smooth relationships among the Council Members.
6. REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY COUNCIL MEMBER GAIL MARSHALL
Council Member Marshall congratulated John Wuo as he assumes his Mayorship for the upcoming
year.
7. REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY COUNCIL MEMBER MICKEY SEGAL
Council Member Segal recognized his wife, Lee, who was in attendance this evening; he congratulated
outgoing Mayor Gary Kovacic and his fellow Council Members on a job well done over the past year;
he noted his support for incoming Mayor John Wuo in the upcoming year.
8. REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY COUNCIL MEMBER GARY KOVACIC

Council Member Kovacic congratulated incoming Mayor John Wuo and wished him success in the
upcoming year.
ADJOURNMENT
The City Council adjourned this meeting at 8:10 p.m., to April 27, 2005, 6:00 p.m., for a Joint Meeting
with the City of Ei Monte at EI Monte City Hall, 11333 Valley Boulevard, EI Monte, California.
