REPORT FROM STUDY AND/OR CLOSED SESSIONS (AS NECESSARY) None. MOTION TO READ ALL ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS BY TITLE ONLY AND WAIVE READING IN FULL A motion was made by Council Member Chandler, seconded by Ccundl Member Marshall, and carried without objection to read all ordinances/resolutions by title only and waive reading tn full. PRESENTATIONS a. Presentation of Proclamation to the Arcadia Host Uon's Oub in honor of White Cane Days. b. Presentation of Proclamation designating October as Fire Prevention Month. c. Presentation of Proclamation to Soroptimist for Breast Cancer Awareness and End Domestic Violence Month, AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION - (5 minutes per person) Russ Garside, President of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, appeared to present the City Coundl with a plaque to the City staff for their assistance to the Chamber in the preparation of handouts for the business community. "Adnan". a resident of Pomona, appeared to speak regarding the lighting of the handball courts at Newcastle Park. The City Manager noted that the City Ccundl and Parks and Recreation Commission will be receiving a report jointly authored by the Police and Recreabon Departments that will provide recommendations to ensure safety for those uSing the park for recreation purposes. Monica Yeh. Arcadia Chinese Association, appeared to present two donations to the CIty of Arcadia, one for the Hislorial Museum and the second for a new Oty park sign, REPORTS FROM ELECTED OFFICIALS MARSHALL Sent best Wishes to Arcadia's Jewish residents for a Happy New Year. SEGAL Noted that today is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and sent best wishes to those in the community who were celebrating this evening. CHANDLER Made a report regarding recent residential burglaries that have occurred within the City of Arcadia and commended the residents who had reported this suspicious activity to the Police Department. 1 10-04-05 KOVACIC WUO 1. Motion Roll Call 47:0093 Thanked the ArcadIa Chinese Assodation for their donations; noted that he met With the new Prinapal of Arcadia High School; sent best wishes to the Jewish and Muslim members of the community who were respectively celebrating religIous holidays. Award a one (1) year contract extension to Varaas Olson Enterorises for construction services at various Oty facillbes In the amount of $74.890. Recommendation: Approve Council Member Kovacic noted that he would abstain from voting on item 1. d. on the Consent Calendar as CLS Landscape Management, Inc. is a client of his employer. Item i.d. was considered separately from the other items on the Consent Calendars. d. Award a one (1) vear contract extension to CLS Landscane Manaaement Inc.. for landscane maintenance services at Citv faCilities in the amount of $491.437. Recommendation: Approve A motion was made by Agency/CounCil Member Chandler, seconded by Agency/Council Member Marshall, to approve item 1. d. on the Consent Calendar. Recommendation: Approve f. Purchase one (1) 2006 diesel Dowered 4-door crew cab nick-un truck for the Police Deoartment in the amount of $32,050,75 from Pasadena Ford, Recommendation: Approve g. Award a one (1) year Professional Services Aareement extension to Joe A. Gonsalves & Son for State leGislative advocaCY services In the amount of $36.000 beainnlnG October 2005. Recommendation: Approve h. Accent all work oerformed by Alliance Streelworks. Inc.. for the Rehabilitation of W/B Huntinaton Drlye and Colorado Place Proiect as comolete and authorize the final oayment to be made In accordance With the contract documents.
